Description

Opening

Welcome in. Bright, bold, and unexpectedly floral, Parainema is a reminder that curiosity at origin can lead to extraordinary coffee.

The Proof

This washed Parainema is grown by René Paguaga at Finca La Portuguesa in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, at an elevation of 1,700 meters.

The Cup

Parainema is a vibrant cup with a bold body and brightness that immediately captures your attention. Delicate notes of orange blossom introduce a fragrant floral sweetness, followed by a citrus flavor of candied lemon.

The Ritual
To enjoy discovering coffees that challenge expectations. Slow down, stay curious, and enjoy the surprise. Que Bonito.

The Story

René is known for challenging convention. Parainema was originally developed to thrive in lower elevations and resist disease, René saw an opportunity to plant it somewhere few would consider—high above the jungle canopy. The result is a coffee with surprising complexity that continues to delight us year after year.

Brewing

Parainema shines as a pour-over or Aeropress where its floral aromatics and citrus sweetness come to life, but its bold body also makes it an exceptional everyday drip coffee.

Best For

“This Paraimema, is an example of how growing coffee at a very high altitude results in more flavor.”

- Carlos, Founder of Bonito Coffee
