I’m excited to share the Bonito Coffee Holiday Blend with you—a seasonal coffee inspired by the flavors of the holidays and the character of a single Nicaraguan origin.
The Proff
This is a blend of coffees from Finca El Ayote in Dipilto, Nicaragua, 1500 MTS.
The Cup
The fruit notes bring memories of baked goods, like fruitcake, and the finish has a beautiful brandy-like warmth. The combination of sweet and warmth feels like the holidays.
By bringing together natural and washed coffees from the same origin and roasting them slightly darker, we found a balance that felt just right for the season.
The Story
Carlos always wanted to create a holiday blend using coffee from a single origin. What Bonito loves most about this coffee is that we didn’t have to look beyond one origin to find these flavors. They were already there, waiting to be brought together.
Usually, blends bring together coffees from different regions to create a particular flavor profile. But Carlos has always been curious about what could be accomplished by staying within one farm and exploring the different characteristics that processing and roasting can bring to the cup.
Brewing
Enjoy as an espresso, French Press or drip. Add milk of choice and sweetener for a sweet treat.
About The farm
The farmer, Ibis, is generous in sharing his natural processes. Ibis represents the Nicaraguan culture of generosity and hospitality
